40 Caregivers Graduate Through the Empower Her Project
Knowledge, resilience, and hope come together to create brighter futures for children with disabilities and their families.
Graduation day was more than a celebration—it marked the beginning of a new chapter for 40 caregivers of children with disabilities who completed the Empower Her Project, a transformative programme implemented by Edmund Rice Centre Nairobi (ERCN) in partnership with Mama Respond – Strong Mamas Project.
Over the course of 18 interactive learning sessions, caregivers gained practical knowledge and life skills designed to strengthen both their caregiving journey and their personal wellbeing. The programme explored a wide range of topics, including:
- Mental health and emotional wellness
- Disability awareness and inclusion
- Pre- and post-natal care
- Cancer prevention awareness
- Financial literacy
- Group dynamics and peer support
Each session was carefully designed to address the everyday realities faced by caregivers while equipping them with practical tools to build healthier, more resilient families.
More Than a Certificate
For many caregivers, this graduation represents much more than completing a training programme. It reflects months of learning, sharing experiences, overcoming challenges, and growing in confidence.
Armed with new knowledge and strengthened support networks, the graduates are now better equipped to care for their children, manage their wellbeing, make informed financial decisions, and advocate for inclusive opportunities within their communities.
