ERCN Launches Its 2026–2028 Strategic Plan: A New Chapter of Hope and Impact
Partners, stakeholders, staff, and friends come together to celebrate a bold vision for a more inclusive future.
A new chapter has begun at Edmund Rice Centre Nairobi (ERCN).
On Tuesday, the 23rd, ERCN proudly launched its 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, marking a significant milestone in our journey of empowering children with disabilities and strengthening the families and communities that support them.
More than simply unveiling a document, the occasion celebrated a shared vision and renewed commitment to creating lasting impact over the next three years. The Strategic Plan serves as the roadmap that will guide our programmes, partnerships, and growth as we continue building an inclusive society where every child can reach their full potential.
A Shared Vision for the Future
We were deeply honoured to welcome Mr. Simon Gregory, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Edmund Rice Foundation Australia (ERFA), as our Chief Guest.
In his keynote address, Mr. Gregory reminded everyone that the Strategic Plan belongs to all of us. He emphasized that its success will depend on shared responsibility, collaboration, and unwavering commitment from every partner, staff member, and stakeholder.

His message reinforced the importance of collective ownership in turning the aspirations within the plan into a meaningful, measurable impact.

The launch brought together an inspiring network of organizations and supporters who continue to walk alongside ERCN in advancing disability inclusion and community development.

Their presence reflected the strength of collaboration and the shared belief that meaningful change is achieved when organizations work together toward a common purpose.
Celebrating Our Journey
The ceremony was officially opened by Br. George Massay, Chair of the Christian Brothers Trustees Kenya.
Reflecting on ERCN’s journey from its beginnings as Mary Rice Centre to the thriving organization it is today, Br. George acknowledged the remarkable milestones achieved over the years while reaffirming the Christian Brothers’ continued commitment to supporting ERCN’s mission and future growth.
Representing Christian Blind Mission (CBM) Global Kenya, Mr. Vincent and Ms. Jedidah Kimani, on behalf of Mr. Edwin Osundwa, also reaffirmed CBM’s commitment to its longstanding partnership with ERCN. They encouraged all stakeholders—including families, government institutions, staff, learners, and development partners—to embrace the Strategic Plan as a shared guide toward expanding ERCN’s impact.
The ERCN Advisory Board echoed these sentiments, celebrating how far the Centre has come while expressing confidence in an even brighter future.
A Celebration Filled with Joy
The launch was made even more memorable by the presence of our dedicated staff, learners, parents, partners, and friends.
The programme featured inspiring speeches, vibrant performances by our talented learners, moving musical entertainment by Chords of Courage (Voices Free Charity), and a ceremonial cake-cutting that symbolized the beginning of an exciting new chapter for ERCN.
Each moment reflected the hope, resilience, and determination that define our community.
Looking Ahead
As we embark on implementing our 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, we do so with confidence, strengthened by the unwavering support of our partners, donors, staff, families, and the wider community.
Together, we will continue creating opportunities for children with disabilities, empowering caregivers, strengthening inclusive education, and building communities where every child is valued, included, and given the opportunity to thrive.
